Well, it was too bad not a single Opponaut ended up making it up to camp. People not feeling well and such. I cooked my face off all weekend and watched the races. Drank a 30 rack of beer and hung out with my lady, and a few friends came up for Sat night dinner. Consider this enticement for the next Oppo F1 meetup...Also this is a lobster stew recipe I owe to Opposauruswrx
This is hanging up at Reillys Supermarket about a mile down the road. The most conveinent place for provisions
Watched the qualifying live. My man Massa did pretty well against the other Mercedes
Cooking up the bugs - BTW do not buy lobster for a while, seeing $9/lb boat prices right now. My lady is the daughter of a lobsterman, so she had the picking done right quick. Pro-tip, use a rolling pin to roll the meat out of the legs
some white wine from my hometown in CT (literally .5 miles from the house I grew up in). This truck is parked out front of the vineyard
Pick the lobsters clean, add salt pepper and water, bring to a boil to make stock
Add bacon, onions, salt, pepper to actual cooking pot where you will be making the stew
Add some diced tomatoes to the cooking pot, and start stirring in stock
add potatoes, add picked lobster a few minutes before the potatoes are done cooking. Make a roux with butter, kneading in flour to the soft butter, and add to thicken it up
Stir in half and half to taste - anything you are saving for later DO NOT add half and half to or it will break up (hence the 2 pots, the smaller is dairyified)
Garnish with smoked paprika, serve with some crusty bread and butter. DONE
Intermission - meaning drink alot of beer and hang out till late night with your lady watching the race. I fell asleep as did she around mid race. And that is my commentary on the race itself. Wake up, take some pork chops out for breakfast, start making a simple sauce with leftover diced tomatoes, garlic, onions, sage, oregano
Add chops to the sauce. Cover pork with the chunks and cook on low heat
Cook up some eggs to your liking, toss a few more onions in to put on top of the eggs
BAM, over easy on English muffins with a side of chops
y'all hungry yet? Later in the day I went to the bar around the corner back home in town and put the race on. Okay race. Massa got 4th, which is respectable for the first race. Come on Williams, dial that thing in! I will let all of Oppo know when the next upta camp race weekend is. Also apologize for pic quality, I must have had some potato on the lens of the potato

that is not the same thing I had tho is it? the one I had was the lobster/corn chowder which is still probably the best chowder I've had. Regardless that looks damn good. My wive almost picked up lobsters this weekend. Maybe I can get her to make this this weekend, that girl can cook!
